The choice of tray length depends on the installation environment, load requirements, and the need to minimize the number of joints or supports.Support Span and DistanceThe support span is the distance between two supports holding the tray. Proper support spacing is critical for structural integrity and safety:Short-span trays (typically indoor, non-industrial) are supported every 6 to 8 feet.Intermediate-span trays are supported every 10 to 12 feet.Long-span trays can be supported at 14 to 20-foot intervals, with 20 feet being common for outdoor or heavy-duty installations.Extra-long spans may exceed 20 feet, often used to cross roads or reduce the number of expensive supports .
